Descriptions

This frog measures between 35 and 40 millimeters long, are black with green or turquoise so brilliant that they are almost phosphorescent. This species is found in humid forests of inferior elevations to the 800 meters of height.

Between dendrobates frogs, the males does not grasp the female with his arms to stimulate eggs laying, she simply deposits her eggs on a leaf litter and the male bathes them sperm to fertilize them. The tadpoles are born of between the humid leaf and the parents take them or carry their offspring on their backs to pool of water for their development.

Feeding

They live on the forest floor where they hunt ants and another small insects during the day.

From Nicaragua to Colombia below 800 m on the level of the sea
