Descriptions
The Querque measure 69 cm and weight 1 kg, is a long bird, his neck, wings, and legs are big. When they are adults they have a crown black color, and his head and neck of white color, and in most of their body they acquire a black color.
This bird prefers open lands, as beaches, plowed scrubs, and fields. It is an animal that can be seen sometimes in pairs or family groups.
Feeding
Is normally to see the Querque feeding it self on dead animals that were run over by the cars, this bird is specialist to hunt rats, snakes, frogs, and young pigeons of other birds.
Distribution
From south of the United States to the land of fire, and the Malvinas Islands. In Costa Rica on the dry part of the northwest of the country from sea level up to 750 m.
