Descriptions
The mantle howler monkey is large, and it is the primate more robust that it lives in Costa Rica, he weight around the 3.6 an 7.6 kg. His body fur is black and yellowish or blonde fur on the flanks. He has a heavily bearded appearance due to the cavity that allows him to emit their vocalizations or calls that can be heard from a distance of more than one kilometer, and also he has a prehensile tail.
Feeding
They mainly feed on young leaves, but he also eat fruits and flowers. They are very selective in choosing the parts to feed on.
Distribution
In Costa Rica it is found trough out the country, from sea level to 2500 m. And also you can see them since the Southern Mexico and Guatemala, continuing through Honduras to Colombia and western Ecuador.
