Descriptions

This bird is one of the most beautiful ones in Costa Rica. It is commonly associated with crows because of it's name. This truly beautiful bird is about 46 centimeters tall and weights an average of 200 grams. The feathers are Gray-Blue and white, and adults have a white curly crest with a black tip, that tilts to the front. You can often see them traveling in 5 to 10 bird flocks, they are very noisy.

Feeding

They feed of fruit, insects, roaches, bee larva, frogs and lizards. They also eat corn and eggs from other birds' nests.

Distribution

From central Mexico to Costa Rica. In Costa Rica, they can be found in the North Pacific Coast, including the peninsula of Nicoya all the way to San Mateo and Orotina.
